The United States had the ‘Crosley’ automobile, and Great Britain had the non-related marque, ‘Crossley’. To differentiate Crosley’s overseas export automobile product, the re-badged name ‘Crosmobiles’ were used. They were identical to the standard Crosley models, except they had ‘Crosmobile’ lettering on the hood, hubcaps, and rear badges.
The Crosley automobile would remain in production until 1952. These small, lightweight, and low cost vehicles were rather impressive, but the American public preferred the larger, more powerful automobile to enjoy the vast, newly created American roadway system. Around 75,000 examples of the Crosley automobile were produced before production ceased.
